Abstract:V zadnjem času se magnetni nanodelci (MND) vedno več uporabljajo v raznih biomedicinskih aplikacijah. Pridobljene nanodelce smo nato karakterizirali s pomočjo termogravimetrične metode (TGA), dinamičnega sipanja svetlobe (DLS), infrardeče spektroskopije s Fourierovo transformacijo (FTIR), rentgenske praškovne difrakcije (RTG), določevali smo tudi izoelektrično točko izhodnih in oblečenih nanodelcev. Diplomsko delo vsebuje tudi opis posameznih sinteznih stopenj in karakterizacije ter diskusijo vseh dobljenih rezultatov.

Title:Synthesis of functionalized magnetic nanoparticles with microwave oven for application in biomedicine
Abstract:Recently, magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) have been increasingly used in various biomedical applications. Nanotechnology allows the creation of nanoparticles that act as heat sources and are activated by an external magnetic field. When the nanoparticles in tissues absorb magnetic energy, they heat up locally, allowing targeted destruction of cancer cells. They can also be used to clean plastic waste, especially micro- and nanoplastics, from various water streams. The thesis involves the microwave synthesis of iron oxide MNP (maghemite), which was then functionalized with citric acid (CA) to increase the stability of the particles. We compared how time, temperature, and the amount of acid added affect the stability of the nanoparticles. The obtained nanoparticles were then characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X -ray powder diffraction (XRD), and the isoelectric point of the initial and dressed nanoparticles was determined. The thesis also contains a description of the individual synthesis steps and characterizations and a discussion of all the results obtained.
