Metode: Za namen izdelave zaključnega dela smo izvedli pregled literature v različnih podatkovnih bazah in uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Literaturo smo pregledali in analizirali ter določili nivoje dokazov izbranih člankov. Potek iskanja smo prikazali z PRISMA diagramom. Izvedli smo analizo in sintezo zbranih podatkov.

Title:The effect of animal therapy on anxiety among children
Abstract:Introduction: Animal-assisted therapy can be a potentially effective approach to improve a child's mental health while helping to relieve the symptoms of an anxiety disorder. The aim of this thesis is to determine the impact of animal-assisted therapy on anxiety among children based on a literature review. Methods: For the purpose of this thesis, we conducted a literature review in various databases and used a descriptive method of work. The literature was reviewed and analysed and the levels of evidence of the selected articles were determined. The search process was illustrated in a PRISMA diagram and the data was analysed and synthesised. We used a synthesis table. Results: We have found that animal-assisted therapy has an impact on improving children's mental health and relieving symptoms and feelings of anxiety. This form of therapy can provide a sense of safety and connection, allowing focus on the moment and shift their attention away from worry, while creating a calm environment to express their emotions. Discussion and conclusion: Animal-assisted therapy not only effectively reduces anxiety symptoms in children, but also offers a promising approach alongside traditional treatment methods. Its integration into therapeutic programmes in different settings can enrich existing treatment methods and contribute to better mental health in children, while emphasising the importance of a holistic approach in caring for the well-being of the individual.
