Title:Vector attack comparison between phishing and ransomware
Abstract:As our lives become increasingly dependent on electronic devices and the internet, the number of potential targets for cyber attackers is also increasing. Phishing and Ransomware are the most popular methods of attacking individuals and organizations due to their effectiveness, and their use continues to rise over the years. At the beginning of the thesis, Phishing and Ransomware will be briefly introduced, along with their development, history, purposes, and the vectors of attack used by both. The central part of the thesis will focus on the comparison of the attack vectors used by Phishing and Ransomware, where we will examine in detail how and if the two are connected. We will also provide useful guidelines that will help us better understand and recognize Phishing and Ransomware, thus reducing the likelihood of infecting our devices. The conclusion will focus on assessing the risk and uderstanding the attacks, where we will answer research questions and test the hypotheses presented.
Keywords:phishing, ransomware, vector attack
