Abstract:Uvod: Spiritualna oskrba je pomemben del zdravstvene oskrbe zlasti, ko se soočamo s kroničnimi nenalezljivimi boleznimi v paliativni oskrbi. Spiritualne potrebe pacientov v paliativni oskrbi so povezane z iskanjem smisla in namena življenja ter smisla doživljanja bolezni, povezanosti z drugimi ljudmi, bogom in naravo, pogovora o smrti, najboljšega izkoristka lastnega časa in neodvisni. S pregledom literature želimo prispevati k opolnomočenju medicinskih sester in jih spodbuditi k zagotavljanju varne, kompetentne in na osebo osredotočene spiritualne oskrbe pacientov v paliativni obravnavi. Metode: Uporabili smo sistematični pristop, ki je vključeval metodo pregleda, analize ter sinteze znanstvene literature. Članke smo iskali v angleškem jeziku s pomočjo podatkovnih baz PubMed, CHINAL, SAGE in Web of Science. Proces iskanja literature smo prikazali v diagramu PRISMA, sintezo izbranih virov smo prikazali s pomočjo tematske analize. Rezultati: V podatkovnih bazah smo našli 1.236 zadetkov.

Title:The role of spiritual care for patients with chronic non-communicable diseases in palliative care
Abstract:Introduction: Spiritual care is an important part of health care, especially when dealing with chronic non-communicable diseases in palliative care. The spiritual needs of patients in palliative care are related to finding meaning and purpose in life, as well as making sense of experiencing an illness, feeling connected with other people, God and nature, talking about death, how to make the best use of one's time and being independent. With this literature review we aim to contribute to the empowerment of nurses and encourage them to provide safe, competent and person-centred spiritual care to patients in palliative care. Methods: We used a systematic approach that included a method of review, analysis and synthesis of scientific literature. Articles in the English language were searched by using PubMed, CHINAL, SAGE and Web of Science databases. The process of searching for literature sources is shown on the PRISMA diagram, whereas the synthesis of the selected sources is presented with a thematic analysis. Results: In the databases we found 1,236 sources. We included 10 sources in the final analysis. The results of the thematic analysis are presented per themes: spiritual needs, spiritual care interventions, limitations of spiritual care and patient questions. Discussion and conclusion: Spiritual care is a very important aspect in palliative care of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases. The integration of spirituality and spiritual care into holistic care is crucial for the patient, as it can have a significant impact on their quality of life.
