Title:Svetovanje in podpora družini gibalno oviranih otrok in mladostnikov s perspektive staršev : magistrsko delo

Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo raziskali perspektivo družin, ki imajo gibalno ovirane otroke in mladostnike v zgodnji odraslosti. Želeli smo pridobiti vpogled v doživljanja teh družin, ob tem pa smo želeli pridobiti tudi vpogled v perspektivo celotnega otroštva in mladostništva glede svetovanja in podpore celotnim družinam, predvsem pa nas je zanimalo, ali so bile družine z gibalno oviranimi otroki pomoči in podpore deležni ali ne. V teoretičnem delu magistrske naloge smo najprej predstavili splošne značilnosti otrok s posebnimi potrebami, posebej podrobno smo predstavili skupino gibalno oviranih otrok. Predstavili smo tudi splošne značilnosti družin otrok s posebnimi potrebami, predvsem kakšne so potrebe družin gibalno oviranih otrok, kako družine otrok s posebnimi potrebami funkcionirajo, posebno pozornost smo namenili tudi sorojencem v omenjenih družinah. Ker nas je zanimalo predvsem področje svetovanja, smo se dotaknili tudi svetovanja in podpore družinam gibalno oviranih otrok, na koncu pa smo predstavili še socialno vključenost in primere dejavnosti socialne vključenosti. V kvalitativni raziskavi je sodelovalo devet družin, ki imajo gibalno oviranega otroka v zgodnji odraslosti. Na podlagi izvedene raziskave smo ugotovili, kakšna so bila doživljanja in odzivi staršev gibalno oviranih otrok med odraščanjem otroka, kako so se družine soočale z otrokovo gibalno oviranostjo in kakšne so bile potrebe omenjenih družin. Ugotovili smo tudi, ali so imele družine v času odraščanja otroka kakšno pomoč ali podporo, ali so bile deležne ustrezne zgodnje obravnave, ter katerih društev, skupin za samopomoč ali drugih organizacij so bile deležne. Prav tako smo ugotovili, kakšna je socialna vključenost gibalno oviranih posameznikov, predvsem pa smo spoznali, kako pomembna je pomoč in podpora tem družinam gibalno oviranih otrok in mladostnikov.

Title:Counselling and support for families of children and adolescents with physical disabilities from the parents' perspective
Abstract:This master’s thesis explores the perspectives of families of children and adolescents in their early adulthood who have physical disabilities. Our aim was to gain insight into the experiences of these families, but at the same time we also wanted to gain insight into the perspective of the entire childhood and adolescents in terms of counselling and support for the whole family, and we were particularly interested in whether families of children with physical disabilities received assistance and support. The theoretical part of the master’s thesis first presents the general characteristics of children with special needs, and in particular the group of children with physical disabilities. We also present the general characteristics of families of children with special needs, especially the needs of families of children with physical disabilities, how families of children with special needs function, and we pay special attention to the siblings in such families. As our main interest lies in the field of counselling, we also touch upon counselling and support for families of children with physical disabilities in general, and finally, we present social inclusion and examples of social inclusion activities. Nine families who have a child with a physical disability in early adulthood took part in our qualitative research. Based on the research we conducted, we identified the experiences and reactions of parents of children with physical disabilities during the course of their child's growing up, how families coped with their child's physical disability, and what the needs of these families were. We also looked at whether the families had any assistance or support during the course of their child's growing up, whether they received appropriate early intervention, and which associations, self-help groups, or other organisations the families had access to. We also explored the social inclusion of individuals with physical disabilities, particularly the importance of assistance and support for families of children and adolescents with physical disabilities.
