Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo proučevali nadarjenost na predšolski stopnji, vlogo vzgojiteljev in pomočnikov vzgojiteljev pri odkrivanju in prepoznavanju teh otrok ter vpliv spodbudnega okolja in staršev na razvijanje nadarjenosti v nadaljnjem izobraževanju otrok. V teoretičnem delu smo podrobneje opisali razvojne značilnosti predšolskih otrok, predstavili potrebe nadarjenih otrok ter pomen zgodnjega odkrivanja in prepoznavanja nadarjenosti. Predstavili smo opazovalno/ocenjevalno lestvico, s pomočjo katere lahko strokovni delavci v vrtcu lažje odkrijejo nadarjenega otroka. Za lažje delo smo našteli še najprimernejše oblike dela in izpostavili pomemben vpliv staršev pri razvijanju otrokove nadarjenosti. V empiričnem delu smo raziskovali poznavanje nadarjenosti vzgojiteljev in pomočnikov vzgojiteljev v predšolskem obdobju.

Title:Significance of identifying and detection of gifted preschool children
Abstract:In the master's thesis we examined giftedness in pre-school period, the role of pre-school teachers and pre-school teachers' assistants in discovering and detecting these children and also the influence of the encouraging environment and parents on developing childrens' talents in the following stages of education. In the theoretical part, we described the developmental characteristics of pre-school children, presented the needs of gifted children and the importance of early detection and identification of giftedness. We presented an observation/evaluation scale that can be used by workers in the kindergarten to easily identify a gifted child, named the most suitable teaching methods and emphasised the importance of parents in development of a child's talent. In the empirical part, we explored the pre-school teachers' and pre-school teachers' assistants' familiarity with giftedness. We were questioning if they possess any general knowledge on this topic, how important they think it is to recognize and discover gifted children in pre-school and how familiar they are with the observation/evaluation scale and self-assessment of their ability to work with such children. We obtained the data with the help of an professionally supported survey questionnaire, which, in addition to the above-mentioned questions, contains data on the involvement of parents and the kindergarten in the development of giftedness, paying additional attention to work with gifted children, opportunities for individual work, improvements in the field of work with gifted children and challenges which professionals encounter when working with these children.
