Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom Uporaba slikanice kot izhodišče za aktivnosti merjenja mase v predšolskem obdobju smo predstavili povezovanje matematike s področjem jezika, in sicer možnost uporabe slikanice Just a Little Bit (Samo še malo) v predšolski matematiki.

Title:Using picture books as the basis for learning about measuring mass in the preschool period
Abstract:In the thesis with the title Using picture books as the basis for learning about measuring mass in the preschool period we present the connection between mathematics and language, namely the possibility of using a picture book Just a Little Bit in preschool mathematics. In the theoretical part of the thesis we focus on mathematics as one of the six areas of the curriculum, where we present global and operational goals, address spontaneous and planned activities in kindergarten and emphasise the important role of the educator in their implementation. We have paid special attention to the area of measurement and the connection between mathematics and children's literary work. In the practical part, we present the planned activities designed on the basis of the picture book Just a little bit and implemented with children from Laško kindergarten. The main goal was to familiarise the children with the field of mass measurement using the picture book whose content addresses this topic. The analysis of the conducted mathematical activities showed that the children were motivated and successful in the designed mathematical activities, so we conclude that children's literary work can be an excellent basis for planning and introducing children to various areas of mathematics.
