Title:The influence of frequency spectrum saturation on the performance of wireless devices
Abstract:The master's thesis discusses the problem of the influence of frequency spectrum saturation on the performance of wireless devices, which was determined by real-time observation of the frequency spectrum and measurements of transmission speeds between the mobile device and the server connected by wire to the router. We focused on the frequency range/domain in which Wi-Fi technology most often operates. We measured transmission speeds on different frequency channels, observed the influence of overlapping frequency channels, assessed the impact of other wireless technologies, and determined the effect of the microwave oven on the transmission speed itself. The placement of routers was important when measuring transmission speeds, as physical obstacles in the signal path also affect performance. Most theses based on the theory were confirmed. Despite the effort to ensure as controlled measurement environment as possible, some disturbances in the frequency spectrum occurred, which made interpretation of the effects on the measurements difficult in some parts.
