Literaturo smo iskali v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah: PubMed, Cinahl, Sage ter Taylor and Francis Online. V analizi zbranih podatkov smo prikazali vrsto raziskave, vzorec in intervencijo. Intervencije smo identificirali s pomočjo sinteze podatkov; izvedli smo tematsko analizo.

Title:Interventions to prevent wounds and ulcers in the oral cavity of an intubated patient
Abstract:Introduction: An intubated patient is entirely dependent on the assistance of the medical staff in carrying out nursing procedures and interventions. Performing oral care in intubated patients is complicated because of the inserted endotracheal tube. The purpose of the final part is to present interventions for the prevention of wounds and ulcers in the oral cavity of an intubated patient. Methods: For the writing of the final work, we performed a literature review. Articles related to the topic of interventions to prevent wounds and ulcers in the oral cavity of intubated patients were used. We searched for the literature in international databases: PubMed, Cinahl, Sage, and Taylor and Francis Online. In the analysis of the collected data, we showed the type of research, the sample, and the intervention. Interventions were also identified using data synthesis: we performed a thematic analysis. Results: In the final review, we included 9 articles that corresponded to the topic of the final work. The results showed that, in addition to the established interventions, it would be necessary to upgrade the knowledge of nursing care providers and create an individual plan for each patient. Interventions that would help prevent wounds and ulcers are regular and several-times-a-day oral care, use of ointments, boiled water, correct use of devices for fixing the tube, and control over the use of vasopressors, as well as control of albumins in the blood. Discussion and conclusion: With interventions that prevent wounds and ulcers in the oral cavity, we can reduce the possibility of additional infections in weakened patients and the cost of treatment. We can achieve better patient well-being.
