Abstract:Diplomsko delo prikazuje delo policistk v mirovnih misijah v islamskem svetu, težave, s katerimi se srečujejo in kako jih pri delu obravnava okolica in sodelavci.

Title:The role of female police officers in peacekeeping missions in Islamic countries
Abstract:This paper presents the tasks of female police officers in peacekeeping missions in Islamic countries, problems they face and the way they are treated by their environment and colleagues. One of the problems female police officers face is having to adjust to the conditions they work in and not being able to progress at the rate they want to. They are often unable to work, and they find it hard to fulfil all the goals they set before going on a mission when they get familiarised with their actual work and environment. The tasks of female police officers on missions and operations in Islamic countries are different from their tasks in other regions, as they have to adapt to a great extent and respect the rules and traditions of Islam. For this reason, they often find it hard to work, but by being persistent and gaining people’s trust, female police officers are able to improve overall cooperation with the locals significantly. This paper also describes the efforts of peacekeeping operations and missions as well as their establishment, management and the organisations that participate in these operations and missions. It also mentions the involvement of the Republic of Slovenia in the efforts of peacekeeping operations and missions and presents the preparation for going on a mission. From female police officers' perspective, participating in missions is very interesting and insightful. They acquire a lot of experience, which they apply to their work as well as their personal life.
