Oceno degradacije materiala zaradi izpostavljenosti okoljskim vplivom smo izvedli z laboratorijskimi simulacijami teh pogojev v vodnem mediju, v zemlji in s pomočjo komore za simulacijo vremenskih vplivov (ksenon test). Za karakterizacijo materiala smo uporabili infrardečo spektroskopijo s Fourierjevo transformacijo, termogravimetrično analizo, goniometrijo, gravimetrijo, optično mikroskopijo, karakterizacijo sežiga materiala in analizo vodnega medija.

Title:Study on the impact of silage foil on the environment
Abstract:The widespread growth in the use of plastic materials is visible in all areas, including agriculture, where it is having some positive effects. Positive properties of plastic materials at the time of use become an environmental burden when being disposed of. In this research, the degradation of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film wrap used to protect silage and hay bales was observed and characterized. The assessment of the degradation of the material due to exposure to environmental impacts was carried out by laboratory simulations of these conditions in aqueous media, in soil, and with weathering simulation chamber (xenon test). Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, goniometry, gravimetry, optical microscopy, characterization of the burning of the material, and analysis of the aqueous media were used to characterize the material. The main findings from the characterization of the LDPE film are that degradation is most affected by ultraviolet (UV) radiation, but the material is treated in such a way that no drastic changes in properties occur in a short exposure time to weathering. It is therefore important what happens to the material after use when it is disposed of.
