Abstract:Učne mobilnosti na ekoloških kmetijah so oblika neformalnega izobraževanja s številnimi pozitivnimi koristmi za udeležence in gostujoče kmetije.

Title:Learning Mobility of Young People on Organic Farms in Slovenia and Abroad
Abstract:Learning mobilities on organic farms are a form of non-formal education with many positive benefits for participants and host farms. By conducting a survey among students and former students of the FALS UM, up to the age of 30, we wanted to explore the interest and awareness of learning mobility opportunities on organic and other farms. We have identified the main motivational factors and barriers to the decision to undertake such a mobility among the survey group. We investigated the effects of the learning mobility on young people and the opportunities for such mobilities on organic farms in Slovenia and abroad. These include Erasmus+ activities, CEEPUS, European Solidarity Corps, AIESEC, IFYE Europe and farm volunteering websites such as wwoof.net. We have presented opportunities that are suitable and relevant for young people in Slovenia. As the results have shown, students from FALS UM are interested in learning mobilities on (organic) farms, but 41 % are not well informed about mobility opportunities. Faculty is identified as the most important source of information and it helps to increase the motivation of students when deciding to take part in learning mobilities. We have recognised the potential to increase interest and informativness among students as 63 % of the students wish to receive more information on mobility from the faculty. Interest in a learning mobility on a farm is not influenced by whether or not the student lives on the farm, nor is there any difference in interest in mobility during the course of the studies compared to mobility after the completion of the studies.
