Abstract:V diplomskem delu se bomo osredotočili na opredelitev vodenja, predvsem na vodenje v športnih organizacijah, saj je vodenje zelo pomembno za uspeh vseh organizacij, tako športnih kot poslovnih. Predstavili bomo glavne naloge vodij in vlogo, ki jo imajo znotraj posamezne organizacije. Pogledali si bomo tudi delegiranje nalog v procesu vodenja, saj brez tega današnje organizacije ne morejo delovati uspešno. Našteli bomo razloge, zakaj je pomembno delegirati naloge, in predstavili razloge, zaradi katerih je lahko delegiranje neuspešno. Opredelili bomo pojem športne organizacije in si pogledali, kakšni stili vodenja se najpogosteje uporabljajo v današnjih športnih organizacijah. Ugotavljali bomo tudi pomen in vlogo komuniciranja in motiviranja znotraj organizacije, opredelili, kaj pomeni uspešna športna organizacija, ter predstavili različne dejavnike, ki lahko vplivajo na njeno uspešnost. Predstavili bomo tudi vpliv vodenja na uspešnost organizacije in kako na uspešnost vpliva ugled vodje. S pomočjo analize dveh poslovnežev, ki sta kot vodji delovala v svetu športa, bomo na podlagi nekaterih kriterijev poskušali predstaviti nekatere njune skupne lastnosti in ugotoviti, kako je njuno vodenje vplivalo na uspešnost športne organizacije, ki sta jo vodila. Z uporabo omenjenih kriterijev ugotovimo, da sta si poslovneža v nekaterih pogledih podobna, po drugi strani pa tudi precej različna. Ključne razlike med njima so vidne v načinu vodenja in uspešnosti športne organizacije, ki sta jo vodila. Da bi zmanjšali te razlike, moramo prepoznati, kateri stil vodenja je najprimernejši za vodenje športnih organizacij in na kakšen način lahko vodja vpliva na samo uspešnost organizacije.

Title:Leadership of sport organizations
Abstract:In the diploma thesis we will focus on the definition of leadership, particularly on the leadership of sports organisations, as leadership is a very important factor for the success of all organisations, both sports and business. We will present the leader’s main tasks and the role the leader has within the organisation. We will also address the delegation of tasks within the leadership process, as nowadays this is a crucial element for the successful operation of organisations. We will explain why it is important to delegate tasks, as well as point out why task delegation can be unsuccessful. We will define the concept of sports organisations and examine what leadership styles are nowadays most commonly applied within sports organisations. Moreover, we will analyse the importance and the role of communication and motivation within organisations, define what constitutes a successful sports organisation, and present different factors that can influence its performance. We will also address the impact of leadership on the organisation’s performance, as well as the impact of the leader’s reputation. On the basis of defined criteria, we will carry out an analysis of two entrepreneurs who operated in the sports sector, present some of their similarities, and try to determine how their leadership influenced the performance of the sports organisation they were leading. Based on the aforementioned criteria, we can conclude that in some aspects the two entrepreneurs operated in a similar way, however, in other aspects they operated rather differently. The key differences between the two leaders can be seen in their leadership style and in the performance of the sports organisation they were leading. In order to reduce these differences, we have to determine what is the most appropriate leadership style for sports organisation and in what way the leader can influence the organisation’s performance.
