Abstract:Diplomsko delo raziskuje brezdomce v Ljubljani in njihovo izkušnjo z obravnavo v različnih institucijah. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni osnovni pojmi in že obstoječa literatura na področjih opredelitve brezdomstva, ponujenih virov pomoči, predstavitev možnih institucij, kjer so bili obravnavani ali so jim namenjene kot vir pomoči. Predstavljena sta tudi institucionalna odvisnost in učinek vrtljivih vrat.

Title:Consequences of institutional treatment of the homeless in ljubljana
Abstract:This thesis explores homeless people in Ljubljana and their experience with treatment in different institutions. The theoretical part presents basic concepts and existing literature in the areas of defining homelessness, sources of help that are offered, and a presentation of possible institutions where they have been treated or intended as a source of help. Institutional dependency and the revolving door effect are also presented. In the empirical part, it explores the experiences of Ljubljana's homeless people with the help of a survey. It focuses on their experience in help-seeking, institutional treatment, understanding the revolving door effect and the impact of imprisonment on their lives. By exploring this topic, I aim to shed light on the issue of homelessness in Ljubljana. To highlight the lack of a coordination network between institutions, the failure of prison staff to prepare this population for release from prison and their inability to implement a post-prison plan into their life. The results show that homeless people experience treatment in different institutions in different ways. What they all have in common is an underprivileged situation that forces them to depend on this treatment. In fact, what remains most important are their choices and their perseverance for good if they want a favourable resolution to their chaotic life on the streets.
