Abstract:V vseh državah Evropske unije imamo veliko željo po zmanjšanju rabe klasičnih kemičnih fitofarmacevtskih sredstev (FFS).

Title:Usage Possibilities of Hydrogen Peroxide for Controlling Pests and Diseases in Apple Orchards and Vineyards
Abstract:All European Union countries manifest a strong desire to reduce the use of conventional chemical plant protection products (PPPs), i.e. phytopharmaceuticals. The above mentioned reduction could be achieved by, among other methods, an increased application of alternative products, including hydrogen peroxide-based preparations (H2O2 HP). In the 2020 and 2021 growing seasons, field trials were carried out in apple and vine plantations at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and at the University Centre of Viticulture and Enology Meranovo, with the aim to evaluate the potential of selected HP-based products for controling of a specific lines of pests in the second part of the growing season, before harvesting. Moreover, our additional goal was to assess the potential usage of HPs in the control of storage diseases. The results of our trials show that repeated applications of HP at a rate of 500 litres of spray at a concentration of at least 500 ppm per ha during the final period of the growing season enable an increased efficiency in controlling certain pathogens. The concentrations of HP spray at up to 500 ppm did not cause to phytotoxicity level of economic significance in the tested varieties. The use of HP showed a moderate effect in an attempt to reduce storage diseases on apples. The application of HP on vines had no effect on the amount of total titratable acids and soluble solids in the grapes at harvest. All in all, the field trial results point to significant potential for applying HP-based products in the domain of plant protection.
