Abstract:Tehnologija za navidezno resničnost se je v zadnjem desetletju močno razširila in postala vedno bolj kvalitetna ter dostopna. Napredek te tehnologije in njena dostopnost predstavljata nove priložnosti za njeno uporabo na novih področjih. Diplomska naloga opisuje razvoj spletne aplikacije sposobne prenesti interakcijo uporabnika s 3D-modeli iz ploščatega ekrana v navidezno resničnost. Razvita spletna aplikacija podpira prikaz datotek IFC (angl. International Founation Class, IFC) aplikacije CAD, ki se uporabljajo za izdelavo načrtov in 3D-modelov v različnih inženirskih panogah. Z razvojem aplikacije smo ugotovili, kje so meje uporabljenih metod in kaj so izzivi, ki jih je potrebno rešiti v razvoju aplikacije za navidezno resničnost.

Title:Online ifc file viewer for virtual reality
Abstract:Virtual reality technology expanded rapidly in the last decade has become better and more readily available. The advances in virtual reality technology present the opportunity to expand its use in more fields. The thesis presents the development of an application that can translate the user's interaction with the 3D model from a 2D screen to virtual reality. The developed application supports IFC file viewing. IFC file is supported by many CAD applications that engineers widely used to design 3D models, construction plans, and other computer graphics. With development of this application, we found out what are the limitations of our methods and what are the challenges in development of virtual reality applications.
