Abstract:Magistrska naloga z naslovom Prevajanje frazemov v romanu Agathe Christie And Then There Were None: Primerjalna analiza dveh slovenskih prevodov se osredinja na frazeme, najdene v romanu Agathe Christie And Then There Were None (2003), ter njihove prevode v dveh slovenskih prevodih knjige. S prevajanjem izvirnika sta se spoprijeli prevajalki Vera Boštjančič Turk, ki je leta 2005 ustvarila prevod z naslovom In potem ni bilo nikogar več, in Danica Križman, ki je leta 2016 prevod posodobila in ga naslovila Bilo jih je deset. Njune prevodne rešitve smo primerjali s pomočjo strategij prevajanja frazemov, opisane v delu Mone Baker In Other Words: A Coursebook on Translation (2011).

Title:Translation of phraseological expressions in agatha christie's novel and then there d were none: a comparative analysis of two slovene translations
Abstract:The master thesis Translation of Phraseological Expressions in Agatha Christie's Novel And Then There Were None: A Comparative Analysis of Two Slovene Translations focusses on phraseological expressions in Agatha Christie's novel And Then There Were None (2003) and two Slovene translations by Vera Boštjančič Turk (2005) In potem ni bilo nikogar več and Danica Križman (2016) Bilo jih je deset. Translation solutions were compared on the basis of strategies for translating idioms described by Mona Baker in In Other Words: A Coursebook on Translation (2011). Theoretical part focuses on a detective genre, literary translation and retranslation, as well as on phraseology, idioms and their primary characteristics. This part also contains a chapter on the methods of translation of phraseological expressions. In the empirical part, the results of a comparative analysis of eighty-four English phraseological expressions and Slovene translations are presented and analyzed according to Mona Baker’s translation strategies. The analyses demonstrated which strategies were the commonest, whether there are differences in translation strategies and if the first translation is more domesticated than the retranslation.
