Title:Differences in morphological characteristics, physical fitness and consistency of motor development between young female volleyball players and athletes
Abstract:The topic of the master's thesis is to establish a possible correlation between monotonous physical exercise and consistency of physical development, motion efficiency and consistency of basic movement patterns with female volleyball players and athletes during their adolescent years. The research included 20 sportswomen, 14 years of age, 10 of them being volleyball players and 10 athletes. The research was done using causal-non-experimental method of pedagogical research, descriptive method and comparative method. In order to identify differences in physical dimensions, physical fitness and consistency of basic movement patterns, we used standardised anthropometric instruments, the Eurofit test battery and FMS test battery. We analysed results using the t-test and the Mann-Whitney test. The results show that statistically typical differences between volleyball players and athletes only occur in individual tests of morphological characteristics and motor capabilities. The differences are evident mainly in weight and skinfold measurements and mobility tests. Statistically typical differences were not detected in the consistency of basic movement patterns. We found that unvaried physical exercise is not enough to create differences with young female athletes in performing basic movement patterns.
