Literaturo smo iskali v naslednjih podatkovnih bazah: SAGE, CINAHL, MEDLINE, PubMed in ScienceDirect.

Title:Palliative care of a patient with an incurable disease in an emergency department
Abstract:Introduction: Health care professionals do not have sufficient knowledge about palliative care, which is essential in anurgent treatment when we have a patient with an incurable disease. It is important that health care professionals know how to pay special attention to it according to the specifics of the disease and treatment. The purpose of the final work is to investigate how health care professionals provide palliative care in emergency care. Methods: The final work is based on a review of the literature. Literature was searched in the following databases: SAGE, CINAHL, MEDLINE, PubMed and ScienceDirect. The process of extraction of articles was moved using a PRISMA diagram. Results: In reviewing the literature, we obtained a total of 592 hits, of which 5 articles were included in the research. In the study, we found that nursing staff in an emergency room use a specific approach to the patient. In emergency care, medical staff are often limited in time, as the patient's condition may change rapidly and no relevant data can be obtained. Discussion and conclusion: In the Emergency the speed of the treatment, the ability to set priorities and the professionalism of the treatment are of key importance, as the medical staff encounterslife-determining situations on a daily basis. As part of palliative care in a patient with an incurable disease, interventions such as relieving stressful symptoms, setting goals and establishing the rapeutic communication are performed. Attention is focused on the spiritual and social concerns of the patient.
