Abstract:Med bistvene elemente Montessori pedagogike štejemo vlogo otroka, pripravljeno okolje in didaktične pripomočke oziroma t. i. material, ki je posebej oblikovan glede na starost in razvojno stopnjo otroka.

Title:The emergence of some elements of Montessori pedagogy in the kindergarten Navihanček at the primary school Središče ob Dravi
Abstract:The essential elements of Montessori pedagogy include the role of the child, the prepared environment, and didactic aids or so-called material, specially designed according to the age and developmental stage of the child. Along with the child, who is the center of the whole process, the prepared environment, and the characteristic material, we must not forget the role of an adult or educator, which, although it is much more in the background than in the public concept, is very important. In the diploma work, we wanted to study their emergence in the kindergarten Navihanček at the primary school Središče ob Dravi. In the theoretical part, we touched upon the concept of public kindergarten, according to which this kindergarten also operates. We also defined the role of an adult and a child in it. Additionally, we presented the concept of Montessori pedagogy and its essential elements. We also compared these two concepts. The empirical part consists of the research that studied the familiarity of educators and assistant educators with the concept of Montessori pedagogy, possible differences between their kindergarten and Montessori kindergarten, the frequency of activities that are related to the free choice of the child, and also the emergence of essential elements of Montessori pedagogy, i. e. possible similarities in equipment and furniture, materials and accessories as well as the role of the child and the educator.
Keywords:public kindergarten, Montessori pedagogy, prepared environment, role of child, role of adult.
