Title:Spopadanje oboroženih sil s pandemijo COVIDA-19 : študija primera Združenega kraljestva

Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava odziv oboroženih sil na pandemijo COVIDA-19 v Združenem kraljestvu. V času izrednih razmer so namreč oborožene sile med prvimi, ki se spoprimejo s kriznimi situacijami. Oborožene sile se morajo v kriznih časih znajti ter biti nemudoma prisotne, ko gre za nacionalno varnost, zato je nujno potrebno ohranjanje odpornosti oboroženih sil, da lahko neprekinjeno opravljajo naloge. V državni blagajni mora tako biti ves čas dovolj denarja za financiranje oboroženih sil, le-te pa morajo ostati zdrave ter številčno zadostne. V zelo kratkem času so se oborožene sile Združenega kraljestva organizirale, opravile različna usposabljanja za boj proti pandemiji ter na pomoč priskočile predvsem zdravstveni dejavnosti, pa tudi drugim civilnim strukturam. Z operacijo Rescript so oborožene sile Združenega kraljestva zelo pomagale na nacionalni ravni s tem, ko so pomagale postaviti bolnišnice, namenjene izključno pacientom, obolelim za COVIDOM-19, pomagale so pri postavitvi testnih točk ter pri testiranjih. Ko so bila cepiva končno na voljo, so oborožene sile pomagale z nacionalno ter mednarodno distribucijo le-teh, na nacionalni ravni pa so pomagale tudi pri cepljenjih. Pomembno vlogo so igrale tudi pri pomoči vzgojno-izobraževalnim ustanovam, da so lahko vzgojno-izobraževalni procesi naprej potekali s čim manj motnjami. Na mednarodni ravni so v sklopu operacije Broadshare pomagale ohranjati čim bolj nemoteno mednarodno trgovanje, pomagale so se vrniti turistom ter delavcem v tujini nazaj domov, prav tako pa so pomagale distribuirati cepiva ter druge pripomočke za boj proti pandemiji izven Združenega kraljestva.

Title:Coping of the United Kingdom Armed Forces with the COVID-19 pandemic
Abstract:The diploma thesis presents how the armed forces of the United Kingdom cope with the onset of COVID-19 pandemic. In times of exceptional circumstances, the armed forces are namely one of the first to deal with the crisis. The armed forces must be resourceful. When it comes to national security, they must be present immediately, therefore it is essential to preserve the resilience of the armed forces, so that they can be constantly present in the battlefield, fighting against the enemy called coronavirus. To achieve the vitality and the sufficient numerousness of armed forces, there must always be enough money in the national exchequer for financing them. In a very short time the armed forces managed to organise and carry out various professional trainings to fight the pandemic and to help the medical workers and other civil structures. The armed forces of the United Kingdom were very helpful on the national level with their operation called Rescript. They helped to set up hospitals for COVID-19 patients and testing points, provided assistance at COVID-19 testing. When the vaccines were finally ready, they also assisted at vaccination points on the national level by distributing the vaccines throughout the country and internationally. The role of armed forces was significant also in the field of education. They helped the institutions to continue the educational process with as few disturbances as possible. Internationally, the armed forces helped to preserve the continuous international trading with Operation Broadshare. During that military operation they also helped the tourists and migrant workers to return to their homes. They also helped to distribute the vaccines and other equipment to fight the pandemic outside the borders of the United Kingdom.
