Abstract:Diplomsko delo obsega izdelavo grafičnega pogona za upodabljanje vokslov s poudarkom na prilagojenih algoritmih metode metanja žarkov. Namen je prikazati omejitve in preučiti tehnike razvoja z metodo metanja žarkov na grafičnih procesnih enotah za realno-časovne aplikacije. Metoda metanja žarkov je uporabljena zaradi prepričljivejših rezultatov upodabljanja. Zaradi počasne operacije iskanje presečišč pri metodi metanja žarkov, z trikotniškimi modeli, so v pogonu uporabljeni vokselski modeli. Rezultati so pokazali, da z uporabo vokselskih modelov dosežemo nad šestdeset slik na sekundo pri majhnem številu modelov.

Title:Development of voxel-based graphics rendering engine
Abstract:The work involves the production of a voxel based graphics renderer with an emphasis on personalized ray tracing algorithms. Ray tracing is used because of its more convincing rendering results. The purpose is to find the boundaries and examine the techniques of ray tracing renderer development on graphics processing units for real-time applications. Due to expensive object intersection operations for triangle based representations, the renderer uses voxel objects. Using the voxel objects, we achieve above sixty frames per second at a small number of models.
