Title:Use of Short Questionnaire for Measuring Dimensions of Personality According to Big Five Theory in Criminal Justice and Security
Abstract:The purpose of this master’s thesis was to study metric characteristics of a short questionnaire for measuring personality traits according to the Big Five Theory in the field of criminal justice and security and compare personality traits of students of the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security and private detectives living in the Republic of Slovenia. Data collection was conducted on several occasions between the years 2018 and 2020. By examining psychometric characteristics of the questionnaire with additional 16 statements, we determined validity and adequate reliability of the measurement tool. Test-retest reliability is also adequate. A comparison of personality traits of students and private detectives shows no difference in neuroticism, but rather in conscientiousness. We were also interested in the connection between the first and the second measurement of the questionnaire among students of the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security, as some students completed the questionnaire twice in fourteen days. A high/strong correlation was observed for almost all values of the Pearson’s correlation coefficient, which means that there is a correlation between the first and the second measurement of the questionnaire.
