Title:Utilization of the fleet of pošta slovenije
Abstract:In the first part of the diploma thesis, we covered the theoretical part of the problem, such as logistics in general, fleet in organizations, utilization and efficiency, and transport planning. The problem of utilization in the vehicle fleet was also defined with the help of good practices from abroad. In the second, analytical part of the thesis, we described the organization and its main activities. We presented the actual data on fleet utilization for 2019 and 2020, and with the help of these we made an analysis of proposed solutions that will improve utilization. We found that utilization would be improved by introducing outsourcing of transport in certain locations where utilization is poor. We also found that utilization would be increased by combining deliveries from larger post offices to smaller ones, as this would require fewer vehicles. We also presented the introduction of artificial intelligence in transport, mainly using autonomous vehicles, which are increasingly evolving. The best solutions to improve utilization are therefore the introduction of outsourcing and artificial intelligence. With both solutions, the current vehicle fleet would be reduced, thus increasing the utilization of the remaining vehicles.
