Title:Analysis of existing sports tourism and potential for further development of the sobota lake
Abstract:Sport and tourism are highly interconnected industries that strongly influence each other. In the modern world, sports tourism has a significant impact on people who, through sports activities, facilities and events, shape tourism. It is therefore important that sports tourism develops in line with global trends. In this diploma, we carried out a literature review to learn about tourism, sport and sports tourism. We presented the Pomurje region, with the municipality of Murska Sobota as the centre of the region. This was followed by an analysis of Sobota Lake and a good practice example from abroad with the Schwarzlsee gravel pit in neighbouring Austria. This was followed by a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews. We interviewed the Municipality of Murska Sobota, tourist institutions and agencies, as well as clubs and associations that shape the sports offer on Sobota Lake. We have concluded that Sobota Lake has a great potential for further development with the unanimous opinions of all stakeholders and the desire to work together, but that a lot of additional time, effort and financial resources will be needed to achieve all the set objectives.
