Title:Upgrade of device for electrochemical discharge micromachining of glass
Abstract:There is a growing interest in developing very small components that will be more powerful than the previous ones. To this end, new technologies are being developed that enable the development of such components. The diploma thesis describes the design, manufacture and upgrade of a device for micro-erosion of glass based on electrochemical discharges. The findings from this device were transferred to a nano precision robotic cell, which is a cartel configuration and allows us to process glass on a micro scale. Glass has many interesting and desirable properties, but it has quite a few limitations in microprocessing itself. Electrochemical erosion is one of the processes by which non-conductive materials such as glass, ceramics and various composite materials can be processed on a micro scale. As the voltage rises above the critical value, sparks begin to appear. These together with the electrolyte locally erode the non-conductive material and hole appears. With all the findings and precise guidance of the nano-robot, we succeeded in creating beautiful straight cuts into the glass.
