Title:Weight loss methods in people with overweight and obesity
Abstract:Introduction: In Slovenia and elsewhere in the world, obesity and overweight are still on the rise among the population. In the diploma work we investigated the effectiveness of individual weight loss methods. Research methods: A descriptive or descriptive method of work was used in the production of the theoretical work. In the part of the diploma work based on the research, we used a quantitative research methodology. To obtain the data, we used a questionnaire, which was distributed among the participants of the workshop on healthy weight loss in three health centers in Pomurje. Results: In our study, we found that respondents already know some methods of weight loss and have previously used them. Experiences between individual weight loss methods are different. Most respondents believe that the most appropriate and effective method of weight loss and also maintaining a reduced body weight is a combination of following the recommendations of a healthy diet and regular physical activity. Discussion and conclusion: There is not ideal weight loss method that would be equally effective for everyone. Each weight loss method has its own requirements and peculiarities. We are also different people from each other. It should be noted, however, that guidelines for a healthy diet and recommended physical activity are validated as a healthy method of weight loss, while weight loss diets are usually not.
