Abstract:Diplomsko delo predstavlja problematiko poškodb zdravstvenih delavcev pri izvajanju nenujnih reševalnih prevozov in njihovo razširjenost.

Title:Injuries to health rescuers in non-emergency rescue transport
Abstract:The thesis presents the problem of injuries at healthcare workers when performing non-emergency ambulance services and their prevalence. The research is based on a quantitative methodology of work. A survey questionnaire was used as a measuring instrument. The sample included 50 healthcare workers who provide non-emergency ambulance services in the Lower Podravje region. We have found out that more than half of the surveyed suffered a work injury. In just under half, work-related injuries began to occur in the age group between 26 and 35 years; these are dominated by injuries at work in the lumbar spine. Most work-related injuries workers suffer when transferring patients up the stairs and when handling overweight patients; a third of respondents have recurrent problems with an injured part of the body. Most of the respondents temporarily performed physically easier work after an injury at work or they were reassigned to another job. Also, most of them believe that in most cases, when carrying heavy loads, injury at work cannot be avoided. For the safe performance of non-emergency ambulance services in terms of moving, carrying, lifting, healthcare workers most often decide to ask for help rescuers from other teams or their relatives. The incidence of injuries is the highest in the 1st degree of obesity. The results highlight the most common occurrences of injuries and the possibilities for their prevention. Injury prevention is key to quality patient care and for ensuring a healthy work environment.
