Abstract:Diplomsko delo z naslovom Z lutko odkrivam svet okoli sebe obsega teoretični ter praktični del, v okviru katerega smo izpeljali projekt – od ogleda lutkovne predstave pa vse do samostojnega dela otrok (lutkovne predstave otrok).

Title:Discovering the world around me with a puppet
Abstract:The bachelor thesis entitled Discovering the world around me with a puppet consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. As part of the latter, a project was carried out – starting with children watching a puppet show and then independently working on their own puppet show. First, different theoretical grounds are presented regarding how children familiarise themselves with puppets. The meaning of puppets and their influence on children’s development is also discussed. The thesis describes different methods of addressing various challenges, presented to us by children completely unconsciously. The theoretical part includes some advice on how to ensure that the first interaction with the puppet is fun, interesting and, most importantly, nonintrusive. The puppet should be used as a means to achieve, identify and confirm new goals in different areas, since it contributes to children’s development significantly. The theoretical part is followed by the presentation of a project which has also been tested in practice. The project included the following steps: first, children watched a puppet show which was prepared by us; then, they learned about puppets, explored them and made new puppets by themselves; finally, they carried out a puppet show. The project lasted five days and was based on a story by Katja Reider entitled I Like You So Much, I Could Eat You which helped us stage a puppet show. The story was told by marionettes, which drew the children into the world of puppetry and encouraged them to become creative in the field of arts according to the curriculum. The project design gave the children many different possibilities to express themselves in this area. Different spontaneous and guided activities were prepared to encourage the children to participate actively. The given opportunities were used to observe the children. The children were attracted as well as motivated by the activities within the project.
