Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo analizirali etične kodekse naključno izbranih treh finančnih in treh nefinančnih institucij.

Title:Analysis of codes of ethics of financial and non-financial institutions in Slovenia
Abstract:In the diploma thesis, we analyzed the codes of ethics of randomly selected three financial and three non-financial institutions. Based on the selected categories, we assessed the differences and similarities between the codes of ethics of financial and non-financial institutions. To facilitate the understanding of the problem, at the beginning of the diploma thesis we have listed all the necessary concepts for understanding the problem. We defined the concepts of ethics, business ethics, code of ethics, financial institutions and non-financial institutions. We found that financial institutionsand non-financial companies in Slovenia have different essential contents of ethical codes of business. An additional finding is that the effective use of codes of ethics improves corporate governance. Codes of ethics became more important after the 2008 financial crisis. The increased importance of business ethics in companies and detailed codes of ethics are very important, and the requirements for their quality content are growing. We have tested the hypotheses with the help of publicly published documents. Fort he sake of transparency, we decided to use a tabular presentation, which we summarized in writing, thus indicating the differences between financial and non-financial institutions. We found that both financial and non-financial institutions have the contentsof codes of ethics that give them special significance. These contents are essential for employees in companies, as they support in critical situations at work, where employees find instructions on how to act in the questionable situation.
