Abstract:V magistrskem delu z naslovom Poznavanje črk in branje besed v prvem razredu smo s pomočjo literature v teoretičnem delu najprej opisali poslušanje, govor in branje. Poudarek magistrskega dela je v empiričnem delu, kjer smo s pomočjo dveh preizkusov pri otrocih starih med 5 in 6 let ugotavljali predznanje na področju prepoznavanja črk in branja besed. Raziskavo smo izvedli na dveh osnovnih šolah (osnovna šola A, osnovna šola B), rezultati pa so pokazali, da so v prvem razredu učenci z različnimi predznanji glede prepoznavanja črk in branja besed. Nekateri so uspešno rešili oba preizkusa, spet drugi so imeli težave pri prepoznavanju črk ali branju besed.

Title:Letter awareness and reading words in first grade
Abstract:In the theoretical part of the master’s thesis Letter awareness and reading words in first grade we primarily, with the help of literature, described listening, speech and reading. The emphasis of the master’s thesis lies in its empirical part, where we used two tests to determine the level of prior knowledge of letter recognition and the reading of words with children aged between five and six. The research, conducted at two primary schools (primary school A, primary school B), showed differences of prior knowledge regarding letter recognition and the reading of words among first grade pupils. While some pupils passed both exams successfully, others struggled with recognizing letters or reading words.
