Abstract:Uvod: Patronažne medicinske sestre sodijo v skupino zdravstvenih delavcev, ki jih pogosteje prizadenejo kostno-mišična obolenja. Anketirali smo 50 patronažnih medicinskih sester iz petih zdravstvenih zavodov severovzhodne Slovenije. Dobljene podatke smo statistično obdelali s programom SPSS Statisics in jih predstavili v tabelah s frekvencami in odstotki. Hipotezi smo preverili z binomskim testom in Spearmanovim koeficientom korelacije.

Title:Health care problems of the nurses in the home care service concerning the (non) use of ergonomic technical accessory
Abstract:Theoretical background: Nurses in the home care service belong to a group of health professionals who are more often affected by musculoskeletal disorders. They most often perform their work in a forced posture, which represents a greater load on the spine. Their work environment often does not allow them to follow ergonomic principles, so adjustments are needed in the care of the patient in the home environment. Methods: We used a descriptive method of work. The empirical part was based on a quantitative research methodology. For this purpose, we used a validated questionnaire, summarized after the doctoral dissertation Design of standards in nursing with the principles of reducing the biomechanical load on the spine. We interviewed 50 nurses in the home care service from five health care institutions in northeastern Slovenia. The obtained data were statistically processed with the SPSS Statisics program and presented in tables with frequencies and percentages. The hypothesis were tested with the binomial test and the Spearman correlation coefficient. Results: Most women employed in the home care service are satisfied with their work. Sometimes they feel exhausted, and the reason for this is attributed to the increased number of patients treated. At the same time, they often feel pain in the spine, but most of them do not go on sick leave or use any drug therapy. Preventive exercises for the spine are rarely performed. Most are familiar with ergonomic technical aids and use them if they are available. Discussion and conclusion: Spinal problems are a major health problem for nurses. By using ergonomic technical aids, regular exercise, and avoiding stress, we can help reduce these problems. This in turn leads to a better quality of life, greater job satisfaction and better interpersonal relationships.
