Abstract:Usklajevanje zasebnega in poslovnega življenja ni enostavno. Pogosto gre za izbiro prioritet in sicer ali kariera, ali družina. V naši magistrski nalogi smo raziskali, kako dobro je uravnoteženo zasebno in poslovno življenje zaposlenega, glede na to, da je želja doseči čim višji nivo zadovoljstva na obeh ravneh. Menimo, da so rezultati raziskave očitno pokazali na težavo, ki zadeva čas za zasebnost, katerega pogosto odžira ravno poslovno življenje. Opažamo, da te težave ne postavljamo ravno v ospredje pri delu na kariernem uspehu in kreiranju družine v zasebnem življenju. Poglavitni rezultati naše raziskave so bili, da so splošne prioritete zaposlenih družina in bogastvo, slednja pa je kot večja želja predvsem pri mlajših od 25 let. V povprečju se večina anketirancev umešča v skupino, ki je dosegla željeno stopnjo ravnotežja med zasebnim in poslovnim življenjem. Dejstvo pa je, da to velja le pri polovici zaposlenih in je, kot navajajo drugi viri, v primerjavi z drugimi državami kar za 25% nižje. Z raziskavo, smo ugotovili, da so zaposleni v veliki meri preobremenjeni in da so bolj zadovoljni s poslovnim življenjem kot pa z zasebnim. Pridobljeni podatki kažejo na to, da se premalo (zavednega) časa posveča zasebnemu življenju, zato lahko le-to tudi pogosto najbolj trpi. Sprememba, ki bi jo bilo smiselno uvesti za lažje uravnoteženje zasebnega in poslovnega življenja, je vsekakor uvedba fleksibilnega urnika vsem zaposlenim. Ključna bi bila tudi uvedba delavnic ali priporočil delodajalcem s strani ustreznih institucij, da zaposlene ne preobremenijo z delom, ki ga po končanem delovniku morajo opravljati še doma. Menimo, da bile učinkovite tudi delavnice, ki izboljšujejo sposobnost samouprave lastnega dnevnega urnika, ki nato pozitivno vpliva na čas namenjen aktivnostim, vezanim na zasebno življenje.

Title:Balance between private and business life of an employee
Abstract:Coordinating personal and work life is not an easy task. Frequently it is a matter of setting priorities: career or family. This master thesis researches what is the level of balance between personal and work life of an employee, having in mind that the main focus is to achieve as high level of satisfaction as possible. In our opinion the results visibly exposed an obvious problem that has to do with time we dedicate to private life which is commonly affected by work life. We became aware this is not playing a decisive role when embarking on a career or forming a family. Main results of our research showed that top priorities of employees are family and wealth. Whereas wealth dominates the list of priorities especially of people younger than 25 years. In average, most of interviewees see themselves in a group which has achieved the desired level of balance between personal and work life, whereas only half of them really enjoy it and according to other sources, this is a 25%-drop in comparison to other countries. All our findings in this thesis head towards work overload of employees and greater satisfaction with work rather than personal life. All gathered data points that too little time is dedicated (consciously) to personal life, therefore making it suffer more. Introducing flexible working hours to every single employee would definitely be a reasonable change that would help balance personal and work life. Key change would also be introducing workshops and recommendations to employers via adequate institutions not to overload the employees who continue working at home after office hours. In our opinion, workshops that teach employees how to properly manage their own working schedules in order to make space for activities tied to their private life, would be highly effective too.
