Title:Razvoj biorazgradljivih škrobnih folij z vgrajenimi rastlinskimi ekstrakti : diplomsko delo

Abstract:V zadnjem desetletju se je pojavilo ponovno zanimanje za pretvorbo škroba v plastični material – termoplastični škrob, ki lahko nadomesti materiale izdelane iz fosilnih virov npr. nafto. V raziskavi v okviru diplomskega dela smo razvili biorazgradljive škrobne folije, katerim smo z dodajanjem različnih naravnih rastlinskih ekstraktov izboljšali njihove lastnosti. Kot osnovno surovino smo uporabili krompirjev škrob. Temu smo v razmerju 10:1 in 1:5, ob prisotnosti glicerola in brez glicerola, dodajali tri vrste naravnih ekstraktov, in sicer rožmarin, timijan in hitozan. Naredili smo tudi kontrolni vzorec brez ekstraktov. Cilj diplomskega dela je ugotoviti, kakšen vpliv imajo različni naravni ekstrakti ter razmerje in dodatek glicerola na končne lastnosti materiala. Pri delu smo uporabili naslednje metode dela: določanje tališča z talilno mizico, stičnega kota z goniometrom, ugotavljanje % antioksidativnosti z ABST metodo in določanje funkcionalnih skupin z ART-FTIR metodo. Ugotovili smo, da rezultati kažejo dobra izhodišča za potencialno in praktično uporabo in da so rezultati v skladu z načeli bioekonomije in krožnega gospodarstva.

Title:Development of biodegradeble starch foils with embedded plant-based extracts
Abstract:In the last decade, there has been renewed interest in converting starch into a plastic material - thermoplastic starch, which can replace materials made from fossil sources, for example the oil. In the research within the diploma work, we developed biodegradable starch foils, to which we improved their properties by adding various natural plant extracts. The potato starch was used as the basic raw material. To this, in a ratio of 10: 1 and 1: 5, in the presence of glycerol and without glycerol, we added three types of natural extracts, namely rosemary, thyme and chitosan. We also made a control sample without extracts. The aim of the diploma work is to determine the influence of different natural extracts and the ratio and addition of glycerol on the final properties of the material. The following methods of work were used: determination of melting point with melting table, contact angle with goniometer, determination of the percent antioxidation with ABST method and determination of functional groups with ART-FTIR method. We found out that the results show good starting points for the potential and practical use and that the results are in line with the principles of bioeconomy and circular economy.
