Abstract:V diplomski nalogi je raziskano področje lažnih novic in njihovo omejevanje.

Title:Spread of misinformation and the fight against fake news
Abstract:In the diploma work the field of fake news and their restriction is researched. Fake news is continuously becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Its size, due to nearly endless online media, now growing faster than ever before. Easily accessible and alterable online contents are only adding to the problem of fake news' restriction. At the beginning of the diploma work it is described how fake news can be determined and recognized. Examples of private platforms that enable the recognition of fake news are then shown. Furthermore, practical examples of fake news that appear in Slovenia and abroad are given. Further, there is a short description of the domestic political system as an important factor in the legitimacy assessment of the restriction of the supervision of fake news by the state. A review of the problems regarding restriction of fake news is made, followed by a review of the legislation that is important when restraining fake news is concerned. The bodies or authorities of various countries, which have the competence of restricting fake news are analysed. Based on the analysis, the author is taking a stand on the issue, proposing a legitimate body or authority of the country, that would supervise fake news efficiently should be formed.
