Title:Suicide of murderers
Abstract:In the theoretical part of the thesis we define concepts such as suicide, murderers, serial and mass murderers, where we are interested in suicides in general, the characteristics of individual types of murderers, typologies, causes, motives and personality traits of murderers, because it is important to get to know these concepts briefly at the beginning. In addition to individual groups of killers, we further explore the connection between suicide and murderers, serial and mass killers. We are mainly interested in the types of perpetrators or murders, the murderers' motives, which personality disorders are common in murderers who commit suicide after the murder, and how the arrest of the perpetrator affects the suicide rate. In this part, through research, we get a clearer insight into the occurrence of suicides from the United States and the world, with the exception of Slovenia, where we have not often encountered such acts and perpetrators. In the discussion, we explore the connection between suicide and three groups of killers. Hypotheses help us find answers. Through research of foreign literature, we try to find answers to the questions, whether the causes of suicide are the same in all three groups of killers, how the suicide rate is affected by the arrest of the perpetrator, and whether personality disorders affect the suicide rate in individual groups of killers. Based on the findings, we give suggestions and guidelines for further research work, as this would contribute to a better understanding, greater awareness of people about the occurrence of suicide, and consequently to the prevention of such acts.
