Title:Ergonomic analysis of a gas station workplace
Abstract:Nowadays, ergonomics is of great importance in the organization of jobs, as companies that invest in the good work experience of their employees are more successful than the competition. Properly ergonomically designed workplace is the key to greater performance and efficiency in companies. Ergonomic principles state that the adaptation of the workplace to the person is very important in the design of the workspace, as this reduces the negative consequences of a particular job. In the diploma thesis we focus on the gas station Petrol, d. d., as we believe that the workplace needs a comprehensive ergonomic analysis. We addressed the workplace using a variety of methods offered by ergonomics: OWAS, REBA, and the CMDQ questionnaire. We compared the results of the methods and determined which condition shows the most realistic picture. We found that the results of the REBA method should not be given much validity, as it examined only the most critical points of the workplace, which rarely occur in the work process. We believe that the results of the OWAS method and the CMDQ questionnaire are more appropriate, so we have reviewed them in detail. We noticed quite a few matches, but in the end we chose OWAS as the most appropriate method. The reason for this is in the rather small sample of the questionnaire and the discrepancies in certain body segments. The choice of the OWAS method as the most appropriate tells us that the workplace is appropriately ergonomically designed. Based on the results of the REBA method and the CMDQ questionnaire, we made suggestions for upgrades that help to improve the ergonomic design of the workplace.
