Abstract:Zaradi predvidene dolge obratovalne dobe tirnih vozil je trdnost in ustrezno dimenzioniranje nosilnih delov le-teh izjemnega pomena.

Title:The influence of the weld type and geometry on the notch stress
Abstract:Due to the long operating time of rail vehicles, their adequate dimensioning is of great importance. This especially applies to the support frame of so-called bogie, which is in general a welded structure, made from steel plates of different thicknesses and shapes. Thus, the purpose of the following bachelor thesis is to determine the notch stress factors of weld joints, depending on type of geometry and combination of welds. To determine the mentioned factors, the finite element method was used. Based on the acquired factors, a FAT class for each weld can be determined (the higher the notch stress factor, the lower the FAT class of a weld). Based on the FAT class of a weld, its S – N curve can be extracted from standardized diagrams. The obtained standard S – N curve can then be compared to the one gained with experimental tests. Based on comparison of the curves, the validity of simulation results can be assessed.
