Podatki so bili pridobljeni s pomočjo štirih vprašalnikov: Vprašalnika emocionalne kompetentnosti (VEK), Vprašalnika spoprijemanja s stresom (COPE), Vprašalnika doživljanja stresa (PSS) in Vprašalnika zadovoljstva z delom za učitelje (TSS).

Title:The role of teacher`s emotional intelligence and coping strategies in experiencing stress and job satisfaction
Abstract:The research addressed the constructs of emotional intelligence, coping strategies, stress at work and job satisfaction, and the relations between them. The effect of adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies and their potential mediating role were also examined. The research sample consisted of 243 primary and secondary school teachers. Data were obtained using four questionnaires: Emotional Skills and Competence Questionnaire (ESCQ), The COPE Inventory, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and Teaching Satisfaction Scale (TSS). Data were analyzed using a correlation matrix, and regression and mediation analysis. The results showed a negative association between ability to manage emotions and stress in the workplace, a positive association between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, a positive association between emotional intelligence and problem-oriented, emotion-oriented and social support-oriented strategies, and a negative association between problem-oriented coping and stress in the workplace. Problem-oriented coping has shown a mediating role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and stress in the workplace. The research is one of the first in Slovenia to address the relationships between these variables in the teacher population and its findings help emphasize the use of adaptive coping strategies in the workplace and the importance of emotional intelligence in the work environment.
