Abstract:V magistrskem delu Kriminalke Avgusta Demšarja smo opredelili žanrsko literaturo, pri čemer so nas zanimale predvsem sodobne slovenske kriminalke slovenskega pisca kriminalk Avgusta Demšarja. Kriminalke zahtevajo zbranega bralca, ki skuša skupaj z detektivom, ki vseskozi podaja namige, razvozlati uganko in odkriti morilca. V začetku naloge sta podana definicija in razvoj kriminalke, nato sledi primerjava sodobne kriminalke s klasično.

Title:Crime novels by Avgust Demšar
Abstract:In the master’s thesis entitled Crime Novels by Avgust Demšar, we defined the genre literature wherein we were mostly interested in contemporary Slovene novels written by the author of crime novels Avgust Demšar. Crime novels demand a focused reader who is together with the detective, who is constantly giving hints, trying to unravel the mystery, and find a murderer. At the beginning of the thesis, the definition and the development of a crime novel are defined, following a comparison of the contemporary and the classic novel. Furthermore, we focused on the author of crime novels from Maribor, Avgust Demšar, and on the literary analysis of his nine crime novels. The analysis was performed with a prior focus on literary theory. After the analysis of the complete opus, we listed the profiles of the murderers who appeared in the novels. We focused on the main character, i.e. the detective character. We were interested in the rules for writing crime novels that were listed by S. S. Van Dine, especially to what extent did the mentioned author considered them. The research has supported our hypotheses, which state that the crime novels of the discussed author deviate from the crime genre because the author exceeded the genre with the entered elements, that this is an opus of contemporary Slovene novels, and that while writing his stories the author did not entirely consider Van Dine’s rules.
