Abstract:Vabila so ena izmed besedilnih vrst, ki jih učitelji tvorijo z namenom komunikacije s starši in drugimi ljudmi.

Title:School invitations from the perspective of successful communication with emphasis on spelling
Abstract:Invitations are one of the text types that teachers create to communicate with parents and other people. Like all texts, school invitations must follow the principles of successful communication to achieve the purpose of it optimally. In the diploma paper we analysed 150 examples of school invitations of primary school teachers to determine the extent to which they follow the principles of successful communication, and which of them is most often and which is rarely followed. We were interested in whether there were differences between primary school teachers in different jobs. We wanted to find out what types of spelling mistakes occur most often in school invitations and whether there are differences between teachers in different jobs. We were also interested in the difference between them in the average number of spelling mistakes. We found out that the principle of observing the elements, and rules of a given verbal language is the worst observed in school invitations. Errors that appeared in the analysed texts were classified into 30 categories, with the most common error being the use of hyphens and dashes. We observed statistically significant differences between teachers in different jobs in terms of the principles of successful communication as well as in the types and the average number of spelling errors. We can conclude that the professors of the Slovenian language respect the principles of successful communication the most and professors of other subjects at the subject level respect them the least.
