Abstract:Varstvo osebnih podatkov in spoštovanje zasebnega življenja sta pomembni temeljni človekovi pravici.

Title:Impact of GDPR in the Area of Accounting
Abstract:The protection of personal data and respect for private life are important fundamental human rights. Due to the use of information technologies, we often reveal our personal data to someone else, without thinking of potential misuse. The new rules on the protection of personal data, which strengthen the rights of citizens and simplify the rules for businesses in the digital age, entered into force in May 2018 with the General Data Protection Regulation. This has brought a change in the sense of greater control over the processing of individuals' personal data. General Data Protection Regulation is a generally applicable and directly binding for all member states of the European Union; however, there are provisions within the regulation that need to be specifically regulated in the national legislation. In the thesis, we defined general terms regarding personal data to be able to understand the regulations and presented the provisions that were laid down in the Personal Data Protection Act in relation to those enacted by the General Data Protection Regulation. In the main part of the thesis, we focused on accounting, with emphasis on the processing of personal data and the validity of legislation.
