Abstract:Povzetek Izhodišče: V laboratoriju so zaposleni laboratorijski delavci z različno stopnjo izobrazbe in različnih poklicev. Podatki so bili pridobljeni z anketnim vprašalnikom. Diskusija in zaključek: V Sloveniji imamo relativno veliko medicinskih laboratorijev, v katerih so zaposleni laboratorijski delavci različnih stopenj izobrazbe in različnih poklicev, vendar večina laboratorijev ni zadovoljno s številom zaposlenih in njihovo izobrazbeno strukturo. Potrebne so spremembe v sistematizaciji delovnih mest v laboratoriju.

Title:Data bases of providers in medical laboratories in the field of medical biochemistry
Abstract:Theoretical background: Medical staff in medical laboratories have different levels of education on different professional areas. In order to keep records of staff on area of medical biomedicine there are two registers, namely the Register of Laboratory Medicine Providers at Chamber of Laboratory Medicine of Slovenia (ZLMS), which ZLMS is publically authorised for, and Register of Healthcare Providers and Workers (RIZDDZ) at National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). Aim: The aim of this research was to gain as real data on medical laboratories staff as possible, providing that they have been reviewed and have obtained work permit by Ministry of Health on the area of medical biochemistry. Methods: Our research based on a quantitative methodology. We have collected data using a questionnaire. The analysis was conducted using the programmes Survey Monkey and Microsoft Office Excel. Results: Based on the research, we found out that the highest number of medical laboratories operate in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region, namely on a primary healthcare level. Most laboratory workers have reached secondary school education and most of them work as laboratory technicians. There is a linear connection between empirical values and values obtained by the Statistical Office NIJZ, however there is a great difference in the number of employees according to their workplace. Discussion and conclusion: In Slovenia there is a relatively high number of medical laboratories employing laboratory workers of different education levels and occupations, however, most of laboratories ae dissatisfied with both number of employees and their education structure. Changes are needed in systematization of workplaces in laboratories. At the same time, there is no database, which would enable us to obtain information in order to keep records on the number and structure of all laboratory workers. It is necessary to establish a relevant code register and to keep records on every laboratory worker.
