Abstract:Spomin kot sposobnost shranjevanja in ohranjanja informacij delimo na tri vrste – senzorni, kratkoročni in dolgoročni spomin. Razdeljeni so bili v tri starostne skupine.

Title:Short-Term memory capacity in different age groups
Abstract:Memory is the ability to store and preserve information and is divided into three types – sensory, short-term and long-term memory. Each type of memory has its own process and structural characteristics, different duration and capacity. Studies related to the capacity of short-term memory indicate that it increases with age. The purpose of the research in the master's thesis was to check whether the capacity of short-term memory increases with age. The final sample consisted of 66 participants who were between 10 and 27 years old (n primary school students = 23; n secondary school students = 22; n students = 21). They were divided into three age groups. Short-term memory capacity was measured using computer application, which measures the range of numbers that an individual remembers. The experiment consisted of three tasks that escalated in difficulty. The results of the research showed that the capacity of short-term memory increases with age. Older participants performed better in the tasks of checking the short-term memory capacity than younger participants.
