Abstract:Namen magistrskega dela je predstavitev tradicionalne tehnike rezbarjenja z naravnim recikliranim materialom v umetniškem delu. Praktični del magistrskega dela prikazuje samostojno rezbarsko delo – klop. Z uporabo odsluženega materiala smo želeli prikazati pomembnost ohranjanja narave in naravnih virov. S slikovnim gradivom so predstavljeni načrt, nastanek in končno umetniško delo. Magistrsko delo se zaključi s refleksijo oblikovane klopi, v kateri so podani vsi pomembni faktorji za njen nastanek in pomen.

Title:Preserving the natural and traditional in the carving artwork
Abstract:The purpose of the master's work is the presentation of traditional carving techniques with natural recycled materials in artwork. The work consists of theoretical and practical part. For a better understanding of the topic, the theoretical part presents the hand carving technique, its history and its message. The history of carving is an important part of the recognition of Slovenian culture and its heritage. For the purpose of presenting the Slovenian carving culture carved examples of Slovenian carvers are presented. In the work we also pay attention to the ways of carving and the importance of preserving the technique in society today. In the 19th century, the tradition of carving techniques has undergone a drastic change. Due to the industrial revolution, numerous domestic workshops were closed, and mass production began. There was a decline in interest in the technique and thus extinction of handicrafts. The master's thesis describes ways that encourage the preservation and learning of hand techniques. The product was manufactured with materials that had already been used and discarded. The practical part of the master's thesis shows an independent carving work – a bench. The bench is made of scrap material and has a carved story about the mine, lead and pollution that relates to local issues of centuries-old exploitation and pollution of nature and its surroundings. By using used materials, we wanted to show the importance of preserving nature and natural resources. The visual materials present the plan, the process and the final artistic work. The master's work concludes with a reflection on the formed bench, in which all the important factors for its formation and significance are given.
Keywords:carving, development of carving, cultural heritage, decorative technique, carving technique, preservation of carving, natural resources, pollution, recycling, art work – bench.
