Abstract:Na tehnološkem področju pet največjih podjetij označuje strukturne, vedenjske in organizacijske vzorce, ki odstopajo od konkurenčnega okolja.

Title:The Market Power of the US Technology Companies
Abstract:In the technology industry the five largest companies characterize structural, behavioral and organizational patterns that deviate from the competitive environment. Economic policy makers and consumers are therefore complaining about large technology corporations that have high market power, cause addiction, censor freedom of speech, and do not pay users to market their data. But if the consumers had good alternatives, they could switch platforms if the company offers bad products or services. As a result of the network effects, technological firms have a distinct advantage over competitors. Facebook would be boring if it had a small number of users. Google would be useless if sites were excluded from index services. Amazon would lose a considerable amount of power if third-party vendors would refuse to sell their products on the Amazon platform. Therefore, the question of how to successfully regulate modern technology companies is increasingly occurring. In this study, we consider some of regulatory solutions which we understand as an attempt to ensure sufficient competition in the technology sector.
