Abstract:Ena izmed največjih znamenitosti Maribora je Stara trta.

Title:Using gis to present stara trta rootstock arrangement around slovenia and europe
Abstract:Stara trta is one of the most important landmarks of Maribor. It belongs to "Žametovka" species and is over 400 years old, which makes it the oldest living vine by The Guiness Book of Records. Stara trta is located outside the Old Vine House in Maribor. Each year, cuttings from the vine are given away as gifts to spread Stara trta's offsprings abroad. Rootstocks are rooted grafts that were produced from Stara trta's original twigs. The purpose of this dessertation is to collect data about the receivers of rootstocks. In part 1, we focused on the receivers of Stara trta rootstocks in Slovenia, and in part 2, on receivers in Europe; we used the GIS application ArcGIS Online extensively. We came to the conclusion that alltogether 96 rootstocks have been given away in Slovenia. 57 or 49,4 % of them to the area of Štajerska and Koroška; 10 or 10,4 % to each area in Prekmurje, Dolenjska and Gorenjska and only 9 or 9.4 % to Primorska area. There are 59 rootstocks in Europe, in 20 different countries. 33 or 56 % of them in Central Europe; 12 (20,3 %) in Southeastern Europe; 8 (13,5 %) in Western Europe; 5 (8,5 %) in Southern Europe and only 1 (1,7 %) in the North Europe. Countries that were gifted most rootstocks are Austria (17), Germany (6) and Croatia (6).
