Title:Modal analysis of the rear shield wall of the built-in oven Gorenje
Abstract:With the oven fan installed on the back side, the shield wall begins to vibrate, due to the magnetic field strengths, which is reflected in the noise of the appliance. To measure the eigenfrequencies we used an impact hammer and accelerometer. For data acquisition we used the software Labview. Eigenfrequencies were measured in order to determine, which ones are closest to the higher harmonics of the electric motor and thus the most critical. Then we performed a simulation and compared it with measurements so that we could confirm accuracy of the computer model. With this, we could change the geometry of the model and again perform the simulation. Then we manufactured a prototype and performed measurements again. By changing the geometry of the model, we increased the rigidity and weight of the product, and thus also eigenfrequencies and frequency amplitudes. We have proven that simulations can achieve comparable results with measurements. With this the development time is significantly reduced, thus reducing the cost of prototyping.
