Title:Populacijska dinamika in raba habitatov pribe (Vanellus vanellus) na Dravskem in Ptujskem polju

Abstract:Populacije pribe v Evropi so zaradi slabega gnezditvenega uspeha v zadnjih desetletjih doživele velik upad številčnosti. Da bi ugotovili velikost in dinamiko populacije pribe na Dravskem in Ptujskem polju ter pojasnili rabo habitatov smo med leti 2016 in 2018 izvedli raziskavo. Na štirih manjših območjih smo pozimi popisali vegetacijo njivskih površin z namenom analize učinka ukrepa ozelenitve za varstvo pribe. V letih 2016, 2017 in 2018 smo popisali 148, 130 in 117 parov prib in izračunali zmeren upad populacije. Večino osebkov smo popisali na golih njivah in njivah z mladim pridelkom, kar je bilo pričakovano, saj pribe preferirajo habitate z nizko vegetacijo ali brez, kjer imajo nemoten pregled nad okolico. Z analizo podatkov o kulturnih rastlinah smo ugotovili preferenco do območij s koruznimi njivami, ki so v času gnezdenja pretežno gole površine. Na podlagi zimskih popisov ozelenitve njiv za ugotovitev učinka ukrepa ozelenitve za varstvo pribe sklepamo, da pribam zelo verjetno ustreza mozaik golih površin za gnezdenje in ozelenjenih površin za prehranjevanje in vzrejo mladičev. Na Dravsko-Ptujskem polju gnezdi med 12 in 21 % nacionalne populacije, kar ga uvršča med eno izmed najpomembnejših območij za pribo v Sloveniji. Za varstvo pribe v okviru kmetijsko-okoljskih-podnebnih plačil predlagamo časovno omejitev kmetijskih operacij v kombinaciji z vzpostavitvijo primernih prehranjevalnih habitatov. Za maksimalno učinkovito varstvo predlagamo prioritetno izvajanje ukrepa na tradicionalnih gnezditvenih območjih.

Title:Population dynamics abd habitat use by Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) on Dravsko and Ptujsko polje
Abstract:Northern Lapwing numbers across Europe are declining because of insufficient breeding success. To determine the size, dynamics and habitat use of Lapwing population on Dravsko and Ptujsko polje a survey was carried out between 2016 and 2018. Four sites were selected to record winter greening to analyse the potential effect of greening measure for protection of Lapwing. In 2016, 2017 and 2018 we recorded 148, 130 and 2017 pairs, respectively and calculated moderate population decline. The majority of Lapwings was found on bare tilled land and fields with spring crops which provide unbroken all-round views. Crop data analysis showed significant preference for maize fields which are mostly bare tillage during the incubation period. According to winter greening records it is very likely that mosaic of bare tilled fields for nesting and greened fields for foraging and chick rearing is the most suitable breeding habitat. Approximately 12 to 21 % of the national Lapwing population was recorded on Dravsko-Ptujsko polje thus being one of the most important breeding area in Slovenia. For the protection of the Lapwing we recommend a time limit for farming operations in combination with providing suitable foraging habitats within the Agri-environment scheme. For greater effectiveness, we propose priority implementation of conservation measures on traditional breeding sites.
