Title:Development of judo in prekmurju
Abstract:The main subject of my thesis is to present Judo development in Prekmurje region. My task is very demanding, because of the availability of the specific literature and only a few people, who are responsible for the beginning of judo in Prekmurje are still alive. I briefly mentioned the beginnings and history of judo in Slovenia, wherein we must mention Mr Baumgartner in memory of which we organize each year a competition in Ljubljana and Mr Vrabl which contributed greatly to the establishment of judo in Slovenia and the Judo Federation of Slovenia. After that I'll continue with the development of Judo in Lendava, where they can praise themselves with excellent succes, notwithstanding the fact that there were not enough resources for quality training, as well as the lack of space. However coaches and athletes trained, educated, competed and succeeded in their fields. I also presented the Judo Federation of Slovenia, its origin, and those who are credited with the fact that judo is a unique independent sport today. It is also necessary to mention the discipline and ethics of judo. One of the main principles of this sport is definitely a strong will and perseverance in coaching.
